This year saw our first visit to Angoulême, and it definitely won’t be the last. The biggest surprise, aside from the amazing buildings of this beautiful city, was how quiet and relaxed the event was. With many of the club cars and drivers out on the rally on the Saturday, we spent a relaxing day wandering the streets finding paddocks for different ‘plateau’ dotted around the back roads, watching the cars prepping for race day.
We always ask guests if they had everything they needed and whether there was anything that we could improve. After scratching his head for some time, one guest recently said, “I couldn’t find any egg cups, but I must be missing them as everything else I could possibly want is there.” Actually that’s a little thing we’d over looked! But always one to respond to customer feedback, we now have not only egg cups but lovely little cosies to go on them. So anyone now wanting a boiled egg for breakfast can rest assured the little chicks are waiting to keep it warm!
It’s that time of year again when the centre of Périgueux comes to a stop - unless you’re in the vehicle parade of course! From 30 August to 1 September 2019, Périgueux Vintage Days offers a weekend of festivities in the centre of Périgueux, including vehicle parades, markets, music, entertainment, fashion shows, vintage gourmet markets, aircraft displays, and lots more besides. This free event is open to everyone and takes place in the heart of the old town and on the boulevards of the city centre. Be warned - only vehicles from 1930 to 1972 can move freely in the centre! Shuttle buses are provided for pedestrians.
